The Buhle Mondi Farmer Development Project was a R64 million farmer support project funded by National Treasury: Jobs Fund, Buhle Farmers Academy, and Mondi Zimele and implemented between 2015-2017 in a number of Provinces. The project involved providing technical production training as well as financial loans for equipment and inputs as well as on-farm support, advice and facilitation.
Data collection included a survey of 27 farmers, key informant interviews and visits to nine participating farmers in Mpumalanga.
